I'm no longer able to host.

Title says it all. I'm not able to host this server and manage it as I used to. It will be best if someone else hosts it, or nobody at all. I do not have the time required to maintain the Hardware aspect of my pc being on 24/7 or the time to even manage the software aspect. I might consider a virtual server but at this point the server is not going to be "24/7" anymore.

People i'm willing to hand the software to.

Well if no one else is able to host it or willing to host it I have a server that runs 24/7 that I operate remotely.

well...this is not a pleasent topic to think about, but if you can't do this anymore i'm not going to stop you, if you've already made up your mind. B'( hopefully the server will continue to flourish.

I'm almost sure that I can't host 24/7 atm. However, maybe in a few weeks, it might be feasible - I'm wiping my home computer then. So, I'll tell you soon whether I can host it then!

I won't be able to host anything properly till I upgrade my landline to fibre opt (30-40mbps), which not a possibility until January-ish.

Don't bother going for a VPN, they're even more of a pain and pretty expensive.

I feel that even though TIM will still be alive, it will never be the same. The best choice (IMO) really is for someone to make a new server with the same-ish settings along with the players and start fresh, and if Chef returns we can perhaps consider falling back or redefining TIM.
I just don't want to see that brand of server I love be risked and tossed around. Not to "slur", but look what happened to EricKillas Freebuild, it completely lost half of its members and trust.

It's not that I don't trust the host options, I just think it would make more sense to keep us seperated.
It would be good to see Mark, Cheese, Drama&Rawwrhh working together and running a server from fresh.

Anyway it's fucking late and I have to get my sexy welsh ass up for work in the morning.

At the moment blyssed and myself are setting up a server that runs pretty close to TIM. It actually is almost a copy of the way the worlds are set up and the main. I do not know who all I showed my server "Qube", but this is the finished product and we are currently moving all the sofware over from my computer to the server itself. It is going to be named "Qube Foundry". We already have a domain and server for a website and forums. Blyssed is working on that while I set up the maps permissions system. I don't know if this would interest any of you but I thought I would throw it out there. I have already showed Chef the original Qube server. It is almost the same just some minor changes and a more complex ranking system.

EDIT: Plans for a beta server that will run along side it are already in the works. I am working on those as we speak but nothing will go into effect until the supported releases supported by mojang. It will be ran off of Bukkit's latest update.

For now, if my pc is on, the server is on.

TIM is the greatest server on minecraft rite now. we simply cannot allow it to die. we have the best of the best running this server. the best moderators, the best builders, and most importantly the best people. someone has to take the server. if no one does then all is lost :/

I agree with d0ddy. I was trying to create a server.. but the port fowarding program keeps closing on me -.- so i thk it would be great for mark drama chesse ect to start from fresh.

mitch and milk this isint something u run off ur computer with a simple router/modem this requires a dedidcates hosting machine with decent internet

and for the reason that TIM cant just be handed down to anyone. its one of the best and most famous servers on minecraft. we cant have anyone ruining it...
